The City of Roanoke Rapids Main Street Program is seeking a student representative to serve on the Main Street Advisory Committee.

This opportunity is open to students in grades 9–12 who are interested in community development, leadership, local events, and revitalization efforts. The student member will participate in committee discussions, assist with Main Street events and activities, share ideas from a youth perspective, and help strengthen connections between The Avenue and the next generation.

Parental permission is required.
Applications will remain open until the position is filled.

The Roanoke Rapids Main Street Advisory Committee will help guide the vision for revitalizing our uptown and downtown district, on Roanoke Avenue. Working with city staff, business owners, and community partners, the committee supports projects that strengthen our local economy, preserve historic character, and enhance community life.

We’re seeking engaged residents and stakeholders to serve on the Advisory Committee. Members will collaborate on strategies that bring energy and opportunity to our Roanoke Rapids Main Street District.

Roanoke Rapids is a North Carolina Main Street community, designated by the N.C. Department of Commerce Main Street & Rural Planning Center.  Main Street Roanoke Rapids is charged with administering the program at the local level and building public-private partnerships to spur economic development that achieves measurable results such as investment, business growth, and job creation.
